LX Structure

The LX-2500 and LX-3000 Series Turning Centers are engineered with a structural design that leverages advanced thermal flow field analysis to maintain exceptional accuracy and stability, even when operating in environments with fluctuating ambient temperatures. By incorporating both structural optimization and thermal displacement analysis, these machines achieve superior static stiffness and dramatically reduce the effects of heat distortion. To further enhance machining performance, the LX Series employs heavy-duty box ways on the X, Y, and Z axes. LX Spindle

LX Series Spindle

The LX-2500 and LX-3000 Series Turning Centers are equipped with spindles that are fully engineered and manufactured in-house by Taiwan Takisawa, ensuring the highest standards of precision, quality, and long-term reliability. By maintaining complete control of the spindle design and production process, Takisawa guarantees consistent performance and the durability required for continuous operation in demanding environments.

To meet a wide variety of machining requirements, the LX Series offers three spindle configurations:

  • Built-in spindle motor – delivering smooth, high-speed operation with minimal vibration, ideal for applications requiring extreme precision and fine surface finishes.
  • Gear box headstock – a traditional Taiwan Takisawa gearbox spindle design, proven over multiple generations for its durability, high torque capability, and ability to withstand heavy-duty cutting conditions.
  • P-motor headstock – providing a cost-effective yet dependable solution for general turning needs.

These options give manufacturers the flexibility to choose the right balance of precision, torque, and cost efficiency for their specific production requirements. In addition, key specifications such as motor output, through-hole size, spindle speed ratios, and spindle nose design can be customized where possible through a tailored needs assessment, ensuring that every LX machine is optimized for the customer’s unique applications.

LX Turret

LX Series Turret

The LX-2500 and LX-3000 Series Turning Centers feature the T12 Milling Turret, an in-house engineered and extensively tested design that delivers exceptional rigidity, accuracy, and long-term reliability. More than just a turning turret, the T12 provides true multi-tasking capability by supporting milling, drilling, and tapping in addition to conventional turning operations. This integration allows complex parts to be completed in a single setup and cycle, reducing part handling, minimizing error, and dramatically increasing throughput for mass production.

To accommodate a wide range of applications, the T12 turret can be custom-configured based on customer requirements. JTEKT Machinery offers tailored assessments to optimize turret design for the exact number of tool stations, tool holders, and milling cutters required, ensuring maximum efficiency for each production environment.

The milling motor is powered directly by the spindle motor, delivering the torque and speed needed for demanding machining operations. Meanwhile, the servo-driven tool indexing system ensures fast, precise, and repeatable tool changes, shortening cycle times while maintaining high machining accuracy.

LX Tailstock

LX Series Tailstock

The tailstock system on the LX-2500 and LX-3000 Series Turning Centers is engineered with a highly rigid construction and driven by a precision servo motor for smooth, accurate positioning. By automating tailstock movement and enabling synchronous drilling during turning operations, the system significantly reduces cycle times while maintaining superior machining accuracy. This makes it especially effective for high-volume production environments where both speed and consistency are critical.

Customization options are available to meet unique production requirements, including special thrust capacities, mandrel designs, or center configurations. For applications involving particularly large or heavy workpieces, an optional tailstock with a built-in center offers increased load capacity compared to standard fixed mandrels, providing maximum support and machining stability.

With its servo-driven automation, flexible configurations, and heavy-duty design, the LX Series tailstock system ensures both productivity and precision, while offering the adaptability needed for a wide variety of turning operations.


Takisawa Automation
