VTC Series

The VTC Series is a next-generation vertical turning center engineered for unmatched rigidity, precision, and versatility in heavy-duty cutting applications. Built from high-grade, one-piece cast iron, its robust frame and bed are fully FEM-analyzed to ensure long-term structural integrity, vibration damping, and consistent machining accuracy. The hardened guideways on the X, Z, and W axes provide ultra-smooth motion and long-lasting precision, while the square-section Z-axis carriage and step-design cross rail ensure exceptional support and stiffness during demanding cuts. Equipped with a servo-driven W-axis and hydraulic clamping system, the machine achieves superior positioning and repeatable accuracy, even when handling oversized components.

Uncompromising Precision Spindle

The VTC Series features a high-performance spindle system engineered for both heavy cutting and high-precision multi-process machining. The gear-driven spindle design provides exceptional torque at low speeds, while optional configurations such as direct-drive or two-step geared systems allow for optimized performance across various cutting conditions.

Unrivaled Design & Intelligent Engineering

Every main casting and welded component undergoes FEM analysis to ensure optimal stiffness and vibration damping, establishing a stable foundation for demanding turning and milling operations. The machine’s hydrostatic bearing system, integrated with the bed and oil reservoir, automatically regulates oil temperature and pressure to minimize thermal distortion, maintaining accuracy throughout long machining cycles. Each critical surface—over 66 precision contact points—is meticulously hand-scraped to achieve superior flatness, geometric integrity, and long-term durability.

The twin servo-driven W-axis crossrail enables smooth and precise movement with 18 tons of hydraulic clamping force, ensuring secure positioning during heavy cuts. Reinforced with box-type cast iron guideways on the X, Z, and W axes, the VTC Series guarantees superior load-bearing capacity and rigidity under extreme conditions. Structural components such as the bed, column, and gear housing are made from premium cast iron and thermally stress-relieved to eliminate internal strain, ensuring long-lasting accuracy. The hydrostatic rotary table features WELE’s patented backlash elimination system for precise C-axis positioning, making it ideal for complex multi-process machining. 


VTC Tool

Tool Changer System & Machining Performance

Equipped with an automatic head and tool changer system, the VTC enables seamless transitions between machining processes without manual intervention. The puzzle-type magazine allows flexible tool arrangement and accommodates a wide variety of tool sizes, ensuring maximum adaptability for complex components. Depending on configuration, the system supports up to 32 tools, reducing setup time and maximizing continuous machining capability. The automatic head exchange system provides fast, reliable tool changes while maintaining precise positioning, ensuring uninterrupted performance in demanding production environments.

The live spindle design enables turning and milling in a single setup, dramatically reducing cycle times while improving part accuracy. Each axis employs high-thrust, high-rigidity drive systems that maintain smooth motion under heavy loads. These features, paired with WELE’s finely tuned control integration and real-time feedback systems, allow the VTC Series to deliver aggressive material removal rates while upholding micron-level accuracy.
